Nootbox Games better start thinking about some more stretch goals because they might run out of them soon. Its Metroidvania game, Rune Fence Illyia, launched on Kickstarter today and has already gathered more than $20,000 of its $31,666 goal.
Rune Fencer Illyia is an atmospheric Metroidvania platformer with a strong emphasis on exploration and utilizing Rune Arts, which are unlocked throughout the game. The unlockable abilities are eloquently demonstrated in the campaign video. It has already gained strong traction on social media and could be the surprise indie hit of the year in the Metroidvania genre.
Rune Fencer Illyia is set for release on Steam and Nintendo Switch, with Xbox and Playstation releases planned as stretch goals. The Kickstarter campaign includes these stretch goals, in addition to the confirmed platforms.
