    Evercade Alpha revealed

A month ago, Evercade (or Blaze Entertainment) revealed their upcoming new hardware iterations, the VS-R and EXP-R, along with some accessories. The packaging of these accessories also revealed that Evercade Alpha should be coming soon as well. On the controller box art, the “Alpha” logo was featured, indicating the accessories are compatible with that unrevealed product as well. Lo and behold, a month after that announcement, Blaze revealed the new Evercade Alpha bartop arcade line-up!

    Evercade Alpha pre-order

    Mid-sized barcade

According to the information on the Evercade website, the machine is fairly sizeable with a height of 41cm, which is more than twice the size of a Sega Astro City Mini or a Neo Geo MVS mini. It features full-size arcade controls, an 8″ screen, and a swappable light-up marquee. With an additional controller, you can enjoy local 2P modes, and, of course, you can play all your Evercade games on the device with the Evercade trademark dual cartridge slots. The console comes in both a Mega Man and Street Fighter II themed version, similar to their Evercade EXP Capcom versions.

Game lists for the Evercade Alpha

Both versions come with six packed-in Capcom games:

    Street Fighter version:

    • Street Fighter™ II’ Champion Edition
    • Super Street Fighter™ II Turbo
    • Super Puzzle Fighter™ II Turbo
    • Street Fighter™ Alpha – Warriors’ Dreams
    • Street Fighter™ Alpha 2
    • Street Fighter™ Alpha 3

    Mega Man version:

    • Mega Man™ – The Power Battle
    • Mega Man™ 2 – The Power Fighters
    • Carrier Air Wing™
    • Final Fight™
    • Knights of the Round™
    • Strider™

Personally, we love seeing the fairly underappreciated Knights of the Round in this collection.

The Deluxe editions add some interesting additions to the mix, with upgraded SANWA controls, five additional marquees, a poster, and a controller. Oh, and a certificate of authenticity for those who expect this to be a hot commodity.

Pre-orders start on June 4th, 2024, and prices range from €/$199 for the normal version and only €/$30 extra for the Deluxe Edition (€/$229). You can pre-order through Funstock and many local retail chains.
