Evercade fans have a lot to look forward to this week, with four new cartridges set to hit the shelves. These releases include a mix of arcade classics and retro-inspired games, expanding Evercade’s growing library of titles. Pre-orders for these cartridges are now available at FunStock and here’s what’s on the way:

    #11 Toaplan Arcade Collection 3

The Toaplan Arcade Collection continues with its third installment, bringing another selection of titles from the arcade developer known for its shoot-‘em-ups. The meat and bones of this set are, again shoot-’em-ups, as you might expect. We reviewed the Steam version a while again and gave it an 8.5! [edit: Unfortunately it has already sold-out]

#12 Data East Arcade Collection 2

The second volume of Data East Arcade titles is also on its way. Known for its wide variety of game genres, Data East’s catalog includes memorable arcade experiences from the late 20th century. With much of the bangers in the first collection, this one feels more like a niche set.

    #13 Toaplan Arcade Collection 4

Hot on the heels of Collection 3, Toaplan Arcade Collection 4 will introduce even more titles from this influential developer. Although less of a Shump-specific collection and more balanced, Toaplan fans can expect more of the challenging and visually distinct gameplay the studio is known for. This one is, at the time of writing, still available.

#42 Metal Dragon/Life on Mars Collection

This cartridge combines two brand new retro-style indie games that channel the spirit of classic arcade and console titles. Metal Dragon offers a classic take on run-and-gun gameplay, think Mercs and Rambo III. Life on Mars reimagines the sci-fi shooter genre with nods to Alien 3

    Release Details

All four cartridges are expected to launch within a week, with pre-orders currently available for £/€ 17.99 each. These cartridges are compatible with all Evercade devices (Handheld, Evercade VS, Evercade VS-R, Evercade EXP, Evercade EXP-R, Evercade Alpha) and Super Pocket consoles.
