Sea of Stars, the retro-inspired RPG from Sabotage Studio, is making its way to mobile devices. The game will launch on iOS and Android on April 7, bringing the full experience to phones and tablets at a single upfront price, without ads or microtransactions.

The mobile edition is being developed by Playdigious, a studio known for adapting PC and console titles to touch-based platforms. According to Sabotage Studio, the adaptation was created in close collaboration, with members of the original team involved to ensure feature parity with the main game.

Sea of Stars originally released in August 2023 on PC and consoles. It quickly found a large audience and became one of the most visible indie releases of that year. The game blends turn-based combat with timing-based mechanics and pixel art inspired by 16-bit era RPGs, while modernizing the formula with streamlined pacing and accessibility options.

Critically, Sea of Stars performed strongly across the board. It won Best Independent Game at The Game Awards 2023 and picked up multiple end-of-year awards and nominations from international outlets. Commercially, the game reached several million players within its first months, helped in part by its day-one availability on subscription services as well as strong word of mouth.

The mobile release aims to introduce the game to a new audience that may have missed it on traditional platforms. Pre-orders are now live on both major app stores, currently offered with a 10 percent launch discount. A new trailer has also been released to accompany the announcement, highlighting how the game translates to smaller screens.
