If you are an R-Type or shmup fan, you are currently well served. We recently reviewed R-Type Delta HD Boosted and we’ve already covered the reveal of R-Type Dimensions III, the upcoming installment in IREM’s long-running horizontal shmup series. Yesterday, Strictly Limited, the limited-run physical retail branch of ININ Games, added the physical editions for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC to its webshop.
Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition open on February 9, 2026. The Special Edition is already available to order. The Special Edition is priced at €59, while the Collector’s Edition comes in at €199.
R-Type Dimensions III Collector’s Edition
As expected, the Collector’s Edition is the most elaborate offering and includes a substantial set of extras. Alongside the physical game on cartridge, it contains a printed manual, a rearranged and remastered soundtrack, a poster, stickers, and boss cards. The centerpiece of the package is the Dobkeratops versus R-90 Ragnarok statue. This highly detailed 15 cm resin figure also includes a transparent resin Force pod. Another notable inclusion is a 120-page artbook that explores ship designs, boss concepts, and Force pod evolutions in detail.
R-Type Dimensions III Special Edition
The Special Edition is considerably more affordable but still includes some attractive extras. It features an art booklet, which appears to be a condensed version of the full artbook, as well as one of the two soundtrack CDs, specifically the Remake OST.
