While some Fire Emblem fans were a little let down by the lack of innovative features and minimized social features in Fire Emblem Engage compared to Fire Emblem Three Houses, the hype was ‘real’ enough to secure the number 1 spot in GFK’s UK software charts of last week. Apart from grievances about certain structural decisions the game gained a good critical reaction for the video game press with a metacritic score of 82.
It bumped FIFA23, God of War : Ragnarok and Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 a place down.
The publishing branch of Nintendo is dominating the sales charts right now with 7 games in the top 10, including Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing which both have been in the sales charts since 2017 and 2020 respectively. The top 40 contains 22 (!) Nintendo published games.
