In anticipation of Sonic Superstars’ impending release, Sega is turning up the PR machine a teenie bit more with some fun content reveals. Today Sega revealed another new track of the OST. And it is undeniably Sonic and extremely funky. The track by composer Rintaro Soma features sounds from the Northstar Islands, specifically, Pinball Carnival Zone Act 1, alongside visuals from the Zone to give fans a sneak peek into the wide variety of music players will experience when playing. Sonic Superstars will be out on alle known consoles and PC on October 17th, 2023.
Hasbro’s licensing department appears to draw some inspiration from recent beat’em up releases, as they’ve unveiled their own take on the genre with G.I Joe : Wraith of Cobra. Our Gamescom reporter, Fleaman, has been on the lookout for retro-inspired games on the world’s biggest video game gathering. Of course, this year the retro and indie sections of the convention floor have plenty of retro-like goodness to discover. The first game that catched our attention is Abathor, by Spanish outfit Pow Pixel Games and publisher Jandusoft. Toaplan Collection vol. 2 feels more curated than volume 1. The emulation is top-notch, and all games are feature-heavy. Are there things to wish for? Yes, of course. Collections can always include more games and be more affordable.
