ININ Games announced IREM Collection vol. 1

ININ is at it again with another compilation. After releasing Pocky & Rocky Reshrined, Wonder Boy Collection, and several of the Cotton games, ININ has now acquired the rights to co-publish the IREM catalog. The first volume of this IREM compilation contains three games from one particular franchise in IREM’s shmup library, Image Fight:

    • Image Fight: Relive the golden age of shoot-em-up arcade games as you play a pilot fighting against an alien invasion. This collection also contains Image Fight in its 1990 PC Engine version (previously only available in Japan), and the 1990 NES version (sold in Japan and North America).
    • Image Fight II: Dive deeper into the narrative with new enemies, improved graphics and gameplay.
    • X Multiply: Explore a new biological world with unique gameplay mechanics – such as tentacles that can be used as weapons or a shield.

The complete collection will consist of five volumes. With a bit of imagination, you can assume there will be a Kung Fu collection (featuring Kung Fu, Kung Fu 2, and Vigilante), an R-Type collection, and possibly even a volume collecting the publisher’s personal favorites, such as Hammerin’ Harry and In the Hunt.

The game collection will be released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation platforms. For more information, check ININ Games’ website here. Pre-order dates for physical Switch and PS-versions will be announced soon.
