SFB Games, critically acclaimed creators of the award-winning Tangle Tower and Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together!, announced that their upcoming survival horror game Crow Country is launching on Xbox Series X/S on May 9th 2024, alongside the previously announced PlayStation 5 and Steam versions.
In this completely new horror game, inspired by classics from the PlayStation 1 era, you venture deep into an abandoned theme park and uncover the secrets behind its owner’s sudden disappearance.
Crow Country employs various visual tricks to establish a dense atmosphere. It has an authentic PS1 dither and prerendering look. It also simulated low resolution and intentional fog used to hide the limited drawing distance of certain games from that era. One of the major inspirations for Crow Country, Silent Hill, combined this technical necessity which also added atmosphere to the extreme. Although the game appears pre-rendered, moving the camera actually reveals that it is fully 3D.
