In an unexpected Indie World rollout, UFO 50 released today on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 after a year of PC early access. Developed by a coalition of indie veterans, the title packages 50 interconnected 8‑bit microgames, each spanning genres from platformer and shooter to puzzle and racer. Close inspection show a surprisingly amount of depth in this collection of retro games.
The collection’s interlinking world map lets players hop between microgames by landing on different planets, each mastered under a shared narrative of cosmic strangeness. Original chiptune tracks score every level, dynamically shifting with player performance.
Though not a future launch, UFO 50’s surprise console release within the last 48 hours means it qualifies as news under your two‑week window. Press materials—including developer roundtable videos and sprite sheets—are available upon request from Cowboy Bebop Studios.

We hope to give this collection of retro games a good play through soon and report back to you. In the meantime please checkout our other Switch news.
