French publisher Red Art Games has announced that Monster Crown: Sin Eater will receive a physical release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in Europe on September 3, 2026.

Developed by Studio Aurum and ported to current-gen consoles by Red Art Studios, Monster Crown: Sin Eater is a top-down monster taming RPG that leans into darker themes and a more choice-driven structure than many of its genre contemporaries. The game is already available digitally for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

According to Red Art Games, the physical standard edition for both Switch and PS5 will include a copy of the game alongside a double-sided poster. Pre-orders are already live through the publisher’s official store, while retail versions will also be available through various European retailers.

At first glance, longtime “monster taming” fans will likely notice some familiar DNA with a certain hyper-successful IP we all know and love. Rather than simply recreating that well-established formula, however, Monster Crown: Sin Eater appears to push the concept in a darker direction with branching storylines, monster fusions and a far more oppressive world setting.

Monster Crown: Sin Eater places players in the role of Asur, a young farm boy who dreams of becoming a Monster Tamer like his older brother. What begins as a personal journey escalates into a conflict against Lord Taishakuten and the Holy Order, a regime that has ruled the Crown Nation for over a thousand years through fear and monstrous experimentation.

The game puts a heavy emphasis on player choice, with branching dialogue and decisions shaping both the story and the fate of the world around Asur. Along the way, players will encounter multiple factions, recruit monsters, and uncover different narrative paths depending on how they approach the adventure.

One of the game’s most notable features is its “True Crossbreeding System,” which allows monsters to be combined into new forms. Red Art Games states that the title includes more than 1,000 unique monster sprites, alongside transformation systems and rare variants for collectors to discover.

Outside of its monster collecting systems, the game also features multiple difficulty settings, a deep battle system and extensive world exploration presented in detailed pixel art.
