Atari announced that Caverns of Mars: Recharded will be coming to PC, consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Atari VCS on March 9th 2023. The game is currently worked on by Lithuanian developer Sneakybox. They were also responsible for a couple of other “Recharged” remakes like Yar’s Revenge, Centipede, Asteroids and Gravitar. A less steep learning curve could’ve kept the game more interesting for casual gamers. For now, hardcore classic shmup-fans get a pretty decent freeby to bite their teeth into. Anyone else should search elsewhere.
