Strictly Limited Games has announced that the much-celebrated shoot ’em up series, Steel Empire, will be released sometime this spring and will, of course, see a limited physical release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
The collection contains the original and 2018 remake of the Megadrive/Genesis game, as well as the GBA version of the game and an additional title called Over Horizon. Over Horizon was originally released for the NES and was developed by the same team, but was only released in Japan. The games in the collection will feature some quality-of-life additions, such as rewind features, save states, filters, and sprite flicker reduction.
Following Strictly Limited games’ almost traditional model, the print run for this game will be limited to 3,000 copies and will be available in a special limited edition Megadrive case as well. Both the Switch and PS4 versions of the special limited edition will be available for pre-order on April 9th, 2023, for €/$59.99. The regular edition will be priced at €/$39.99. The actual release date is estimated to be in the spring of 2023.
