The new Atari 2600 PAC‑MAN Edition puts a modern spin on a classic console. At its core is the “PAC‑MAN: Double Feature” cartridge, which includes two games in one package. The first is the original 1982 Atari 2600 version of PAC‑MAN, and the second is a newly developed PAC‑MAN 7800 title that uses Atari 7800 hardware. Players will find the familiar dot‑eating and ghost‑chasing gameplay alongside updated controls designed for today’s televisions.

The console itself arrives in PAC‑MAN’s distinctive yellow color and features character icons printed on the front. It outputs via HDMI and offers a widescreen display option so it works with modern TVs. It also supports both Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 cartridges, giving fans access to a large library of classic titles.

Atari has introduced four additional wireless controllers, each modeled after one of PAC‑MAN’s ghosts: Blinky in red, Pinky in pink, Inky in blue, and Clyde in orange. These controllers use the same basic layout as the original CX‑40 joystick but are updated with wireless connectivity, just like previous Atari 2600+ controllers. In Europe they cost €39,99/£29.99 each and in the United States they sell for $39.99 as well. Collectors can choose their favorite ghost or mix and match to create a set.

For those who want a complete package, Atari offers bundles that include the PAC‑MAN Edition console and one or more ghost controllers. There is also a larger bundle that adds Bandai Namco‑licensed Atari 7800 games such as GALAGA, DIG DUG, and XEVIOUS. Each of those additional titles is priced at £34.99 in Europe and $34.99 in the U.S.

Pre‑orders open worldwide on July 23, 2025, through Amazon and Atari’s official online store. In the United States the console sells for $169.99. In the U.K. and other European markets it is priced at £129.99. Shipments begin on October 31, 2025. Pricing and availability in Asia will be confirmed on Amazon Japan and regional Atari sites in the days following the global pre‑order launch.
