Ratata Arts and TVT Co. have confirmed that Ratatan will launch worldwide on 16 July for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release date was announced during the latest Nintendo Indie World Showcase, which also marked the first public reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
‘Rhythm Roguelite’ with beat-driven battles
Ratatan blends rhythm gameplay with roguelite structure. Players build and customise their own Cobun army, then march across the shifting world of Redo. Combat unfolds to the beat, requiring timing and coordination as players push forward against waves of enemies.

The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes, placing focus on both strategy and musical timing. Each run introduces new variations, encouraging experimentation with different Cobun combinations and tactics.
From record Kickstarter to early access Success
Ratatan first gained attention in 2023 with a Kickstarter campaign that attracted more than 14,000 backers and raised over € 1,2 million Euros. The project is led by a team that includes former Sony Japan Studio staff, among them Hiroyuki Kotani, known for his work on the Patapon of witch the relation to the cult favorite PSP-franchise unmistakingly shines through in the In In September of 2025, Ratatan launched on PC via Steam Early Access after which the game surpassed 100,000 sales within its first month. Since then, multiple free updates have expanded its content, with additional updates planned ahead of the console launch.
