If you were not a backer of the Kickstarter campaign and want a physical edition of Sea of Stars. Now is you time! Today Sabotage Studios announced that the physical edition can be pre-ordered through Iam8bit.com.

    Critically acclaimed

The Kickstarter project Sea of Stars by Canadian studio, Sabotage, have managed to gain a lot of critical acclaim since it’s August 2023 release. We have been following Sea of Stars closely, but didn’t manage to squeeze out a review key. It scored between 87 and 91 across the different platforms it has been released, with the Switch version gaining the highest praise with 91.

It also managed to win ‘Best independent game’ at the Game Awards last December and was nominated for ‘best RPG’, where it was bested by the best, Baldur’s Gate 3.

Now after five months the physical edition finally is available for pre-order. So, what are your options? Well, Iam8bit.com is know for it’s more elaborate special editions, and the options do not dissapoint:

    Exclusive Edition

Ooh boy, this is going to be a hot Ebay-item. For various reasons; First, it is very limited. Secondly, it is already sold out, 2 hours after going live. Well, the Switch version is. Both the PS4/PS5 and the Xbox versions are still available. This is the contents of the Iam8bit Exclusive Edition:

    • Retro-Style Game Manual
    • Collectible Slipcase
    • Double-Sided poster Featuring Original Art and an Oversized World Map
    • Includes Complete Soundtrack Download (200+ Tracks)
    • 4 sticker sheets

The Iam8bit Exclusive edition ships out in the second quarter of 2024.

Sea of Stars Double LP Set

As with most Iam8bit vinyl releases, the Sea of Stars Double LP set looks extremely nice, with it’s Solar Orange and Lunar Blue, thematically in tune records. As of writing, this set is still available for pre-order.

    • 2xLP on Solar Orange and Lunar Blue Vinyl
    • Featuring Music by Eric W. Brown and Yasunori Mitsuda
    • Album Art by Bryce Kho
    • Includes Complete Soundtrack Download (200+ Tracks)

Just for the record, there won’t be a standard edition available through Iam8bit.com. Seeing the all out praise and success of the game, we can’t imagine this to be the last physical run for Sea of Stars.
