Blaze Entertainment has announced its sixth hardware release for the Evercade platform in as many years: the Evercade Nexus. Pre-orders are now open via the official Evercade website and selected retail partners. A limited Evercade Nexus 64 Edition will follow, with pre-orders going live on April 1, 2026 for €200/$200/£170.
The console
The Nexus is the largest handheld in the Evercade lineup so far. It features an almost 6-inch 16:9 display with a brightness of up to 500 nits. For the first time on an Evercade device, the system includes both a left and right thumbstick, addressing a long-standing request from users.
Wireless headset support is also included, likely via Bluetooth. With the addition of dual thumbsticks, Blaze appears to be further supporting its growing catalogue of 32- and 64-bit titles. Additionally, the Nexus has Steam Deck-like double shoulder buttons. This suggests that fifth-generation console games will remain a focus in upcoming cartridge releases.
Maybe to nicest edition is the option to switch to Tate mode, by the flick of a switch on the bottom of the console. This will be a nice feature if you own the Toaplan collections!
Banjo-Kazooie-tooie
The Nexus ships with cartridge number 54: the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack. This release includes Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The games that are considered key releases on the Nintendo 64 are both updated to support the Nexus’ widescreen display.
Evercade Nexus 64 Edition
Alongside the standard model, Blaze is releasing a limited Nexus 64 Edition. This version is restricted to 2,000 units and will be available exclusively through Funstock.
The bundle includes the console, the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge, a protective carry case, a poster, and a certificate of authenticity. The 64 Edition carries a €30 premium over the standard model, bringing the total price to €229. Visuall, it differs for the basic model as it has N64 style colored buttons.
Both versions are scheduled to ship in October 2026. Pre-order details can be found via Funstock and Evercade’s official channels.
